What happens to the details you send us?

Plain English, and no longer than it needs to be.

Who controls your data

Garage & Loft Conversions Cornwall is the data controller for information collected through this website. Garage & Loft Conversions Cornwall is a trading name of [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME - TO BE CONFIRMED], registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS - TO BE CONFIRMED].

If you have any question about how your information is handled, contact us at garageloftconversionscornwall@gmail.com or on 01841 550856.

What we collect

Only what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, telephone number, the service you are enquiring about, and anything you add in the free text field. The form also records which page of the site you submitted it from, so that we know what you were reading when you got in touch.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

How we use it

To answer your enquiry, arrange a site visit, prepare a quote and carry out the work if you go ahead. That is all. We do not sell your details to anyone, we do not pass them to lead-generation companies, and we do not add you to a marketing list unless you specifically ask us to.

Our legal basis

Where you have contacted us about work, we rely on legitimate interests - responding to an enquiry you chose to send us. Where you go on to instruct us, we rely on performance of a contract. Where we have to keep records for tax or building control purposes, we rely on legal obligation.

Who else sees it

The contact form is processed by Web3Forms, which delivers the submission to our email inbox. Our email is provided by Google. Where a job goes ahead, your name and address may be shared with the parties who need them to do the work: Cornwall Council building control, the structural engineer, and any subcontracted trade attending your property. Nobody else.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Records relating to completed work are kept for at least six years, because building work carries long-tail liability and because HMRC requires business records to be retained. Structural warranty records are kept for the life of the warranty.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • ask for your data to be deleted, where we are not required to keep it
  • object to processing, or ask us to restrict it
  • ask for your data in a portable format

Email us at garageloftconversionscornwall@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
